Hey everyone, I'm Jayresa!
As a single mother of two, I started my crochet business in 2019 with one goal: build a better future for my family through the craft I loved. I poured everything into it — but no matter how hard I worked, financial stability stayed just out of reach.
What changed everything wasn't just perfecting my craft. It was learning how to fund it.
I discovered there was real money available to artists like me — grants for supplies and materials, community impact grants, business revival funding — and I made it my mission to find it. To date, I've secured over $900,000 in grant funding to support my crochet business and the mission behind it.
While I was figuring out the funding side, I was also building my brand — growing my Instagram to 17k followers in just 40 days. Now I teach other fiber artists both sides: how to fund the work, and how to build the visibility that makes it sustainable.
I hold a certification in women's entrepreneurship from Cornell University, and everything I teach comes from what actually worked — not theory.
